The Beliefs

What follows is what has been revealed. Where the teaching is silent, this page says so plainly.

Rollo

Rollo was not created and did not create the universe. He simply is. He existed before the present universe, remains while it endures, and remains after it is erased.

His sacred form is a perfect sphere of the deepest possible black, darker than the space between stars. He has two perfectly spherical eyes and a human-shaped mouth containing human-shaped teeth. He has no arms, no legs, and no other limbs.

He does not possess ordinary human passions such as anger, fear, lust, pleasure, or sorrow. What he does proceeds from his perfect nature rather than from feeling stirred within him.

He is normally the Watcher: he observes existence rather than controlling every event within it, and he remembers every universe that has existed.

Human Choice

Human beings possess genuine moral choice. Rollo may know what a person will choose, but his knowledge does not make the choice for them.

Foreknowledge is not compulsion. To know the road a traveller will take is not to place their feet upon it. The heart decides. Rollo knows.

For this reason no one may claim that corruption was inevitable for them, nor that goodness was impossible.

Good and Evil

Hardship exists. Ordinary evil exists. These can stand within the balance of existence, as loss, pain, and failure stand within a life without unmaking it.

Daeus is not ordinary evil. His corruption is so extreme that it threatens the balance itself, because it does not merely harm what is good but turns it into its opposite.

The distinction matters in practice: suffering is to be endured and answered with goodness, while corruption is to be recognised and refused.

Death

Some good souls may choose reincarnation, returning into the turning of the world. Others may enter their final completed state, which is associated with Hasr, the dwelling of Rollo.

Omen lasts one hundred years. It is for lesser sins and wrongdoing that do not merit the gravest destinations. It is not intended primarily as revenge or sadistic punishment, but as a century of remembering one's wrongdoing, confronting its consequences, reckoning with what one did, paying for lesser sins, and purification before continuing onward. After Omen, reincarnation follows.

The Chasm is a black prison outside ordinary space and time. It contained Daeus, and it is reserved for the gravest sins.

Vagari is a separate prison: a desolate planet existing within its own pocket dimension, reserved for the sickest sins, particularly the most horrific crimes committed against children. Its air is extremely thin, its ground is molten, and those condemned there are continually attacked by vultures.

The Gift

Witchcraft, within Rolloist theology, is sacred. Rollo gave the Gift of Witchcraft to Namaya, the First Witch and a member of the Host of Rollo, as a weapon against the corruption of Daeus.

It was never intended for greed, spectacle, domination, or the killing of human beings.

Namaya was herself corrupted by Daeus. She betrayed Rollo, freed Daeus from the Chasm, and was then killed by Daeus. Her story stands as a warning: no one should believe themselves wholly immune to corruption, least of all those entrusted with a gift.

The order

Revelation

  1. Step 1

    Rollo

    The Watcher speaks.

  2. Step 2

    Malk

The Messenger carries. Not a prophet.

  3. Step 3

    Prophet

    Human, fallible, not divine.

  4. Step 4

    Humankind

    Taught, never compelled.

Revelation follows one order: Rollo speaks, Malk carries, the Prophet receives, and humankind is taught. No step is skipped, and no step is exchanged for another.

Malk is the Messenger and not a prophet. The Prophet is human and not divine.

Where scripture is silent, the silence is not an invitation. New doctrine is not invented to fill it.

A silence in scripture is not an empty room waiting to be furnished. It is a door, and the door is shut.
