The Former Universe
A universe turned before the present one. It arose, existed, and ended in the Great Implosion, as the present universe will.
Rollo remembers it. Nothing else does.
The turning
A state outside ordinary universal time, in which no universe yet stands.
A universe arises out of the Great Before and begins its turning.
The universe exists and runs its length. No two universes are identical.
The universe collapses and is erased. What it contained is remembered only by Rollo.
Again the state outside ordinary time, in which nothing stands and Rollo remains unchanged.
In time another universe begins, unlike the one before it.
Within the turning
A universe turned before the present one. It arose, existed, and ended in the Great Implosion, as the present universe will.
Rollo remembers it. Nothing else does.
The Darks were a period of enormous tragedy and warfare involving several galaxies.
They are the earliest known period in which Rollo directly interacted with beings involved in the events of the universe. During the Darks, Malk was created by Rollo for the purpose of communication with the alien peoples involved in the conflict.
Their theological importance therefore lies not only in the scale of the warfare and suffering, but in the fact that they mark the beginning of Rollo's known direct interaction with other beings.
The dates, the names of the galaxies and peoples, the causes, the duration, and the particular battles have not been revealed.
Shortly after the Darks came the First Great War: the first great conflict between the forces associated with Rollo and Malk and the forces of Daeus.
A major distinction between the two sides was the means by which they raised their armies. Rollo possessed the power to create his own army. Daeus did not possess equivalent creative power, and so formed his forces by corrupting existing people and alien beings and turning them toward his cause.
The war ended in the defeat and imprisonment of Daeus. The actual historical date on which it ended remains unknown; December 25 is the day Malk chose for its remembrance, not a claim about the anniversary itself.
This has not yet been revealed.
The Gift of Witchcraft was given to Namaya, of the Host of Rollo, as a weapon against Daeus. Daeus corrupted her. She betrayed Rollo and freed Daeus from the Chasm, and Daeus killed her.
Further detail of the Sundering has not yet been revealed.
A black prison outside ordinary space and time, used to contain Daeus and reserved for the gravest sins.
It is not a place within the universe, and it does not end when a universe ends.
The Chasm is distinct from Vagari. The Chasm concerns the gravest sins; Vagari is the separate prison of the sickest sins.
This universe is one turning among many. It arose, it endures, and it will end in the Great Implosion.
Rollo was fully revealed to humankind within this turning, in 2026.
Hasr is the dwelling of Rollo, outside ordinary time and space. It is a perfectly round world, covered completely in green grass.
The final completed state of some good souls is associated with Hasr.
Omen is a temporary state of purification in which those guilty of lesser sins confront the consequences of their actions before reincarnation. It lasts one hundred years.
It is for lesser sins and wrongdoing that do not merit the gravest destinations, and it is not intended primarily as revenge or sadistic punishment. It is a century of remembering one's wrongdoing, confronting its consequences, reckoning with what one did, paying for lesser sins, and purification before continuing onward.
After Omen, reincarnation follows. It is a passage, not a destination.
Vagari is a desolate planet existing within its own pocket dimension. Its revealed characteristics are extremely thin air, molten ground, and continual attacks by vultures.
Vagari is reserved for the sickest sins, particularly the most horrific crimes committed against children. It is not a harsher region of the Chasm, nor another name for it. Certain crimes are held to be so sick and perverse that their offenders are separated into their own place of punishment.
Nothing further concerning Vagari has been revealed.
The end of the First Great War is remembered on Victory Day. The date of that observance was chosen by Malk; the historical date on which the war ended remains unknown.
The sphere is the supreme sacred shape: beginning and ending joined into one continuous whole. The rings mark turnings, not distances.
