How Rolloists live

Practices

Rolloist practice is at present simple and largely private. Nothing on this page is elaborated beyond what has been established.

Prayer

Prayer is directed toward Rollo. It is normally voluntary. A person may pray silently in the mind or aloud.

There is no required bodily posture, no required direction, and no required sacred object. A person may pray wherever they are comfortable.

Prayer becomes obligatory on Oiama, Jaqarna, and Azaraoi. Victory Day includes prayer as an established part of its observance, but prayer has not been established as mandatory on Victory Day.

No universal prescribed wording for ordinary prayer has yet been revealed. The egg blessing of the dietary law is a separate revealed formula and is not the standard wording of ordinary prayer.

Meditation

Quiet contemplation on the Watcher, on the heart, on the choices a person has actually made, and on where corruption has been resisted or permitted.

Study

The reading and contemplation of the Scripture of Rollo, including the parts that remain silent. What is not written is not to be supplied.

The Sphere

The sphere is the supreme sacred shape. It represents completeness: beginning and ending joined into one continuous whole, with no seam and no corner.

It is the sacred form of Rollo, and Hasr itself is a perfectly round world.

Moral Discipline

Resistance to greed, uncontrolled lust, cruelty, selfishness, betrayal, and the hunger for power, and refusal of the reasoning by which each of them excuses itself.

Teaching

The teachings are shared only with those willing to listen. Scripture is explicit: speak to those willing to hear, not by sword, threat, or force.

There is no coercion, no pressure, and no penalty for declining to listen.
