Of the Hearts of Humankind

Rollo knows all that was and all that will be. Therefore he knows every choice that every human will make.

But hear this rightly, for many will stumble here.

Rollo's knowing does not make the choice.

The human chooses freely.

Rollo knows what the human will choose because the choice has already been decided within that human's own heart.

The heart decides. Rollo knows. The knowing follows the deciding, and does not command it.

Therefore no one may say, Rollo foreknew it; therefore could I not have done otherwise.

And no one may say, Daeus compelled me. Daeus corrupts, but the corrupted consent within their hearts, and it is their hearts that decide.

Every deed belongs to the one who does it.
