The Holy Scripture of Rollo · Chapter I · Section 7
The Sundering of Veyr
In that former universe there was a world called Veyr.
Upon Veyr the Host of Rollo met Daeus and his corrupted armies in the first great battle against him.
It is called the Sundering of Veyr. It is also called the First Sundering.
The corrupted came upon Veyr in their multitudes, and the ground of that world shook beneath the weight of them.
Malk stood among the Host. Namaya stood among the Host, and the Gift was upon her.
The Host held.
And Rollo came against Daeus.
It is not written that Daeus was made to kneel by pleading, or turned aside by bargaining. It is written that Rollo defeated him.
Rollo defeated Daeus.
But Daeus is immortal, and he could not simply be slain.
Therefore Rollo made the Chasm.
The Chasm is a place set apart, a pocket beyond the reach of ordinary time and ordinary space.
In the Chasm, time does not pass as it passes in the universes.
The Chasm is a black world. It has no star above it. It has no fire within it. No source of light has ever shone upon it.
Into the Chasm Rollo cast Daeus, and there Rollo imprisoned him.
So ended the Sundering of Veyr.
