The Holy Scripture of Rollo · Chapter II · Section 12
The Vanishing Book
After these things, L guarded the ancient Holy Book with great care.
He did not leave it upon the table. He did not leave it in his house.
He kept it upon his person at all times.
Where he went, the book went.
Then one morning, L woke.
And the Holy Book was gone.
L searched for it.
He searched where he had slept.
He searched where he had walked.
He searched, and he did not find it.
And Malk came to him, and Malk said:
"This is but a book. That which thou needest to fight Daeus is within thy mind."
Hear this teaching, and hold it.
The book was a vessel.
The book was not the revelation.
What was given to L had already been given. The knowledge that was imparted when he accepted the calling was not written only upon leather and pages. It was set within him.
The book could be lost. What was imparted could not be lost with it.
"That which thou needest to fight Daeus is within thy mind."
Where the Holy Book went has not been revealed.
Who took it has not been revealed.
Let no one say where it is.
